Users who do not wish to subscribe can simply leave their accounts as is and continue to use them to back up their data. To subscribe to this maintenance plan, again clearly stated, is entirely optional.

As clearly stated in our communication - the maintenance plan simply covers the ongoing running costs of maintaining a fully-optimised account service with regular software updates (adjusting for situations such as the most robust GDPR compliance) and premium support as well as similar performance enhancements. Your data will always be stored and ready for you to access for as long as you wish it to be. In this email we very simply stated that your 'maintenance plan' had expired. It seems that a very small number of our lifetime account holders did not read the recent email notification we sent out very carefully. All lifetime accounts are fully operational and will continue to be for as long as users wish.

It is unfortunate that you wish to move your data from your account, but should you wish to change your mind - your data will always be backed up and accessible from your lifetime account. We have a massive number of lifetime account holders like yourself (ranging in the hundreds of thousands) and at time of writing a large percentage have subscribed to the maintenance plan because they see the huge benefits of doing so at such a low-cost (less than $1 per month). To charge additional fees for updates and support is a common practice with all SaaS providers. If you had read the email carefully, sent to all our lifetime users, you would have noticed that we very simply stated that your 'maintenance plan' had expired. Dear Don, We're sorry that you felt compelled to write such a review of our Cloud backup service, but we must make it very clear that we did not in any way, shape or form deny you access to your data or, for that matter, deny access to the service.
